Author’s commentary

Han yuefu · Inspiration Seed 424242 ("Singing Spring Prelude") · jué mode (qīngyuè system) · dizi + erhu · ♩=75 · all 16 music-theory checks passed

The four parallel closing lines are laid out plainly in the accompaniment, two voices chasing each other in canon. The reduplication tián tián enters the music as a sung refrain; the fresh jué mode is Jiangnan itself, out gathering lotus.
